1. Does Project Woodworks make price coordination / changes?

Project Woodworks does not value nor price adjust to match other retailer’s pricing.

All our products’ pricing are finalized and are not qualified for price adjustment, return, or exchange, unless stated otherwise.

4. What forms of payment are accepted in your website?

We accept Credit / Debit Cards, iPay88, and manual payment (direct bank-in for Malaysia only).

5. What are the warranty policies of Project Woodworks?

All Project Woodworks watch movements come with a 1 year manufacturer’s warranty against faults in materials and manufacture. This warranty covers production faults but not wear and tear from regular use. The warranty may be rejected on products showing evidence of extreme or improper use. If you believe you have a warranty claim, please contact us at hello@projectwoodworks.co and we will attend to your claim immediately. Kindly include order number, photos of the suspected issue and a brief description. Project Woodworks’ obligations are limited to repair or replacement at its option (see full warranty and return policies).

6. Do you ship internationally?

We are working hard to cater international customer’s needs. International orders may take several weeks for delivery depending on your country's customs office and local mail carrier. Customers are responsible for any extra duties, taxes, or shipping fees that may be charged by their specific locality. Please note, any order that is returned to PROJECT WOODWORKS because it is unclaimed by the customer or because the customer refuses to pay any extra fees, cannot be fully refunded.

*NOTE: We are unable to return or exchange items outside of Malaysia. This is a customs and duties issue that our business is just too small to handle at this time. In addition, we are not responsible for any money that might be lost during the conversion rate process. We do apologize for any inconveniences this may cause.

7. Are exchange or return of watches allowed?

We intend to create the best customer experience for you! Any watch sold in Malaysia can be returned or exchanged within 15 days of delivery. The watch must be in unworn condition and show no signs of tear or wear. The watch must be returned including the original packaging. If you need to make a return, please email us and send us the unworn watches along with the receipt. Kindly let us know the tracking number so that the watch is returned to our HQ without any hassles. We will refund the watch’s cost or replace the watch based on the availability and customer’s preferences (see full warranty and return policies).

8. Are refunds of watches allowed?

To ensure your satisfaction and hassle-free purchase, Project Woodworks allow 14 days of refund grace period starting from the date you purchased the watch.

WOODEN WATCH FAQ

1. What type of wood are you using to manufacture the watches?

Aligning with our sustainable and conscious business practices, Project Woodworks mainly utilizes lumber off-cuts, or also known as the wood residues (that will eventually end up in landfills / burned if not being utilized) to produce our products. We source only the finest wood from forests all around the world that are FSC-certified (learn more about Forest Stewardship Council). 

2. Are Project Woodworks’ watches durable?

Wood is a gift from Mother Nature and gentle care and respect must definitely be given to it! We strongly recommend that you store the watches under optimal environment (do not leave outside, inside a car, putting into washing machine, etc).

When tightening the strap, we suggest you treat it gently and with care in order to avoid damage to the watch. Over time, a slight patina may show on the wood and you might experience some flaking. This is a normal reaction because of the contact between the watch and oils on your hands and skin!

3. Are the watches water-resistant / water-proof?

Standing at 1 atm water resistance, splashes of water (Eg: during hand-washing), slight rain and humidity are totally fine. Actions like swimming, showering or diving are definitely a no due to the fact that our products are manufactured from real natural wood, it swells and expand when get soaked. Products warranty is immediately voided by this kind of exposure. Generally, the wood will be recovered when dry.

4. Can I replace the battery?

Of course! However, we highly recommend you to send the watch to jewelry or watch repair shop for battery replacement because there are high chances that you may damage the movement and void the warranty. In other words, leave it to the professionals!

5. What if I am allergic to metal and wood?

Our watches are predominantly wood and the clasp of the watches is in metal and it will be in contact to with your skin. Everyone’s skin is different and we dare not to guarantee that you will not have reaction to these components.

6. What should I know about wood allergies?

A hypoallergenic product minimizes the risk of allergies. It does not have preservatives, dyes, alcohol, or nickel derivatives. Hypoallergenic does not mean anti-allergy. Allergies in fact, are unique for each body and can occur from any type of product. To learn more about wood allergies, check the following link:

7. How do I keep my watch clean? 

You can follow the steps below:

  1. Prepare 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and 2 tablespoons of olive oil together.

  2. Apply small amount onto a soft cloth. Twist the cloth to evenly spread the mixture on the cloth.

  3. Rub the cloth on the wood part of the watch.

Other than that, we also suggest that you apply natural coating such as beeswax, butcher block oil, walnut oil, or even lip balm, on your watch regularly. This action helps to create a protection layer against damage, and at the same time improve the durability of the wood by maintaining the moisture balance of the wood to prevent from dry and crack.

WOOD ALLERGY

It is said that approximately 2% of the general population is allergic to wood dust and the compounds found in wood.

Mechanism of the allergic reaction

A wood allergy is an adverse reaction by the immune system caused by chemicals called, quinones. Derivatives from these chemicals bind with skin proteins which are considered by the immune system as foreign. The symptoms can vary among patients but generally, the allergic reaction to wood resembles contact dermatitis with some redness, swelling, blisters and irritation.

Generally the allergic reaction appears after 24/48 hours of prolonged contact, and in few cases doesn't disappear when you stop wearing the watch, or may even get worse for a few days following its removal.

We recommend that you see an allergist as soon as you notice a rash or irritation.

What your Doctor can do for you

If you think you are sensitive to wood, consult your doctor or an allergist. Physical evaluation, a medical history, and patch tests will help in finding the cause and rule out other disorders. The treatment will be mainly symptomatic as with other allergies. Anti-Allergy medications may be prescribed. If the reaction is mostly dermatological, topical corticosteroids may be given (with prescription).

ALLERGY DISCLAIMER

Please be informed that our products are made using 100% natural wood, and we don't use any toxic chemicals to treat or protect them. There are very few people who might experience an allergic reaction to woods. You may want to consult your doctor first if you have allergic problem with metals or woods.

Moreover, we suggest that while you are wearing the watch within the first few weeks, you should monitor your skin. In the remote possibility that you begin to experience any discomfort on your wrist or any kind of itch or rash, please stop wearing the watch immediately and visit a doctor. PROJECT WOODWORKS hold no responsibility for any possible resulting damages, injuries or expenses related to causes created by wearing the wooden watch.
